Your gluteal muscles, commonly known as your butt, are the muscles that you're sitting on and likely not using at all as you're reading this. If you’re lying down they are the muscles that kick your leg to the ceiling when you’re lying on your side (hip abduction) or your stomach (hip extension).

Ankle sprains

One of the most common sporting injuries is a sprained ankle. Lateral ankle sprains usually occur with a rolling in (inversion) of the ankle. Ankle sprains are often sustained during a mis-step, giving out on a pivoting movement or landing on an opponent’s foot during a jump. If the speed of the force is too quick or great for the muscular system to react the result can be an injury to the non-muscular structures of the ankle.

Darryl is the best physiotherapist I have ever worked with! Twenty years ago, he successfully treated my sprained ankle, but when he moved clinics, I lost track of him. I was recently suffering from severe vertigo for two months, and nothing else was working. By complete luck, I found Darryl again at Family Physiotherapy Clinic. After just two sessions, he completely fixed my vertigo! He is truly amazing, professional, and has a gift for healing. I am now continuing to see him for rehabilitation and mobility after a shoulder PRP injection, and I wouldn't trust anyone else. I have officially found my lifetime physiotherapist! Highly, highly recommend.

The name Family Physiotherapy couldn’t be more appropriate. Darryl and the entire team genuinely make you feel like family.Darryl goes above and beyond routine physiotherapy care. He provides thoughtful ongoing maintenance, takes the time to understand how you’re doing, and, when something may require medical attention beyond physiotherapy, he recognizes it and recommends seeking the appropriate care. The whole team is welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in their patients. I’m very grateful for the care I’ve received and would highly recommend Family Physiotherapy to anyone looking for a team that truly cares.

I would give this clinic a 10/10 without hesitation again.Darryl is an exceptional physiotherapist — extremely professional, patient, and knowledgeable. He takes the time to thoroughly assess the problem and explains every part of each treatment clearly and thoughtfully, so I always understand why something is being done, not just what is being done. What I appreciate most is how carefully he analyzes my condition and tailors both the in-clinic treatment and the home exercise program. The exercises are explained in a way that is easy to follow, purposeful, and clearly linked to long-term improvement rather than short-term relief only.In addition, the front desk staff are equally wonderful — warm, friendly, and highly professional. Scheduling and communication are always smooth, and the overall atmosphere of the clinic is welcoming and well organized.Since my last review, I have also been receiving injection treatments at the pain clinic to manage ongoing pain. With Darryl’s guidance and tailored home exercise program, I’ve been able to combine the treatments effectively, and I am noticing gradual improvements in strength and mobility. His approach emphasizes long-term recovery, not just short-term relief, which makes a huge difference.I continue to appreciate how carefully Darryl analyzes my condition and adjusts both in-clinic therapy and exercises at home. The exercises are easy to follow, purposeful, and clearly linked to improvement over time.I truly feel well cared for here and would highly recommend this clinic and Darryl to anyone looking for thoughtful, high-quality physiotherapy.

I’ve been going to Darryl for at least 10 years, at 3 different locations. He has been amazing, fixing the aftermath of some of life's “boo-boos”, and keeping my body in good shape so that at 82 I can still do most classes at the gym and live a full and active life with no restrictions on my movement. He is also a pleasure to work with. I can’t recommend him highly enough!
