I would like to share my experience with my current Physiotherapist, Shefali Gupta. My shoulder pain began in the summer of 2024 after a sudden movement when I tossed a jacket into the back seat of our car. At first, I thought the pain would go away on its own, but it didn’t. It got worse, and my doctor sent me for an X-ray, ultrasound and MRI. The results showed a partial tear of the supraspinatus tendon and tendonitis.
I was prescribed anti-inflammatory medication, but it upset my stomach so I stopped taking it. I hoped rest would help, but my pain continued and eventually interfered with my sleep. I felt stuck and unsure of what to do. Although I had tried physiotherapy before for other issues, I never found it effective.
My husband searched online and found excellent reviews about Shefali. He encouraged me to see her, and I am truly thankful that I did. Shefali is exceptionally good at what she does. She is the most professional, knowledgeable and committed Physiotherapist I have ever worked with. She provides focused, hands-on treatment and always gives me her full attention during appointments. When I book 30 minutes or an hour, she spends that entire time working directly with me.
Shefali’s care and expertise have made a real difference in my recovery. Unlike previous experiences where I was left with ice or heat packs and seen briefly by the therapist, Shefali’s approach is thoughtful and personalized. She understands her patients and genuinely cares about their progress.
Healing takes time, and it's important to stay patient. In my case, not being able to take anti-inflammatory medication made it harder to do strengthening exercises. My rotator cuff muscles weren’t supporting my shoulder properly, and I also live with fibromyalgia, which slowed things down even more. At one point, I couldn’t do basic tasks like washing my face or hair, taking a shower, pulling up my pants or getting dressed.
I began treatment with Shefali in late November 2024. Initially I went twice a week, and as I improved, I reduced it to once a week. I am still seeing her and I’m very happy with how far I’ve come. Although I’m not yet fully back to normal, I am now able to do all the everyday tasks I couldn’t before. I’m confident that with Shefali’s support, I’ll get back to full strength.
The administrative team at Family Physiotherapy is also kind and helpful. I highly recommend Shefali and the entire clinic to anyone seeking quality care. She is a skilled and compassionate professional who truly stands out in her field.
