Acupuncture from an Acupuncturist or Physiotherapist?
Acupuncturists and physiotherapists are both able to use acupuncture for the treatment of pain.
Acupuncture from an Physiotherapist
Physiotherapists use medical acupuncture, including dry needling, for the treatment of orthopaedic injuries such as arm, neck and low back pain.
Acupuncture from an Acupuncturist
Acupuncturists can help with orthopedic conditions, but can also use acupuncture for the treatment of other conditions. These can include improving energy levels, fertlity, digestional problems and weight loss. Treatment by an acupnucturist can often be billed separately from physiotherapy and massage therapy through most private insurance plans.
